Dear Dr. Joseph:

I am writing this letter to you today to acknowledge and thank you for the wonderful care you have provided to me since I first went to see you. I found that you were attentive, a good listener and very passionate about your work.

As you know, I had a spinal fusion performed by you on 08/27/2024 and I am home recuperating from that procedure. I did not know a whole lot about spines or bones or cages or screws when I first went to see you. All I knew is that I had awful pain was so debilitating that I was unable to work or even enjoy social life as I could not sit in the car for more than 20 minutes.

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the care and attention I received from Dr. Nguyen & his team during a very difficult time in my life. I am a healthy 37-year-old man who has never had any issues or health concerns in my life, besides sciatic nerve issues.

Before I stepped foot into the Joseph Spine Institute, I had already been seen by my Chiropractor, a doctor at an Urgent Care and a doctor in the emergency room at Tampa General Hospital. Nothing they provided for me could relieve my pain. I had X-rays taken as well as an MRI to try and pinpoint where my pain was coming from and why.

I had my first lower back surgery on Nov. 2016, fused my S1 and L5. My spine had dislocated back in 1993 while lifting very heavy weights. Continued power lifting until back pain had worsened to the point it was unbearable. Unfortunately, about 6 months after surgery I was rear ended by a police officer and was in pain almost immediately following accident. My original surgeon had left the area for a position in Arizona and I made the most regrettable decision to have Tressor from Florida Orthopedic follow up with revision surgery. That “doctor” put me in the most intense pain imaginable up until Dr. Joseph rescued me. After seeing several Surgeons, all said there was nothing they could do, Dr. Joseph, after 3 surgeries has relieved all my lower back pain. I cannot say enough positive comments about him, even after the 3rd surgery and still experiencing intense pain mostly in my hips, ordered X rays and found my hips were past bone. Having 2nd hip surgery this Friday. Thank you, Dr.

I have been in continuous pain since 2018.   My sleeping partners were two ice packs and one moist heating shoulder pad.  I put my health off due to being a caregiver for my mother, that moved in with me in 2014.  I promised her I would not ever put her in a home, and she passed overlooking our beautiful pond in the backyard of my house on January 30th.   I am unsure if God just kept the pain under control due to working full time and being a full-time caregiver until I could get my care.  However, I went to my Chiropractor, and he said it's now time to get an MRI, and he ordered it.  Well, the MRI was five pages long.  I knew by the look on his face it was not good news.  He said until I saw a Neurosurgeon, he would not touch me other than Ultrasound treatments.  I also had a home massage therapist every week.  He recommended I go to Joseph Spine Institute.

I sustained an injury to back due to a slip and fall. I sought the opinion of another spine facility but they did not give me options that Dr. Nguyen did. Since being under his care, Dr. Nguyen has provided me with the ultimate medical care due to my spinal injury.

I have suffered severe back and neck pain since 1986 resulting from a car accident. I have tried everything from chiropractors, acupuncture, surgery, and even ablation from another pain management doctor. As we say in my business not all windows and installations are created equal. A job done the correct way is worth its weight in gold.

Dr. Nguyen performed a Kyphoplasy on me. I had a bad fall and was in extreme pain from a compression fracture. Had been in three different hospital emergency rooms with no relief. St. Joseph’s hospital recommended Dr. Nguyen. It was an outpatient procedure and the pain was immediately relieved. This procedure and Dr. Nguyen comes highly recommended by me. Manner by him and his staff was always professional and welcoming.

Dr. Nguyen is incredible. His staff is kind and welcoming. Not only has he taken great care of my neck and shoulder pain but he has truly been interested in what is best for me and my life. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen! Dr Chatterjee and Staff well cared for me and his treatments restored me. Starting in late 2019 ablation treatment afforded long term relief to pinched nerve conditions in my neck. The neck injury resultant from being rear ended.

I am rescued from months of constant debilitating neck pain that mostly kept me prone, day in day out and meds could not touch.

Dr. Joseph was the only surgeon I would allow to operate on me as his expertise and years of both simple and complex surgery allowed me to be back to work and my normal routine, pain-free within 4 weeks.

In Feb 2016, I was referred by my GP to Dr. Joseph after an MRI due to severe lower back pain with leg weakness. Dr. Joseph helped me understand the need for discectomy and laminectomy to relieve the long term issues I was experiencing. From the moment I was admitted to hospital, I was treated with compassion and care. Dr. Joseph’s surgical team was with me the whole way. They answered my questions and were there for me after the surgery to make sure I was recovering well.

I have to say that this surgery saved my life. After 21 back surgery's, I am out of pain, have total movement and strength in my left leg, and I am walking.

It has been a difficult road to get back walking. After 7 years in a wheelchair I am beginning to walk again. I have been a night mare to all of the therapist that I have worked with because they have never had anyone begin to walk again after being in a wheel chair for 7 years. Also we have begun getting me off the pain med's. I have been on OxyContin 320 mg and 120 mg of Morphine for 15 years. The reason that I am here is because of the great surgery that you performed on both of my sack joints. I would like to thank you for this surgery, it has turned my life around.

I found Dr. Sam very professional, and his caring attitude displayed to be more personal and genuine than any of the literally dozens of neurosurgeons we engaged over the past 30 years of my life.

I highly recommend Dr. Sam and his team for any back/neck surgery needed.  He is definitely worth the drive or flight.

I truly don’t know what I would have done if I had not found Dr. Joseph. He was so kind and treated me with respect and compassion. He knew the pain I was in and how tired I was physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I will never be able to thank him enough for the miracle he performed on me. I wish I could yell from the roof tops what an amazing, gifted surgeon he is.I had a 14 hr. surgery in May of 2011 by a well known Orthopedic surgeon in Clearwater, FL. for scoliosis.

In my opinion, Dr. Joseph is an excellent surgeon. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing back surgery. He is very easy to talk with and will patiently explain procedures and answer any questions you might have. I don’t think you could find a better doctor.
